I have a 2004 Hemi and it takes 7 quarts to fill line including changing the filter. I have used Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5w30 synthetic year round. Engine runs great just got back from a 2100 trip.

How did leaded gas damage the engines ?
Leaded gas definitely didn't hurt the engines but it sure seems like it fouled the plugs a lot quicker. Being OCD I always took my plugs out and cleaned them every 10K miles max. Seems like it was even worse before converting them over to electronic ignition. I love the old days but you got to admit that points did suck!

7 quarts of 5w30 redline oil is the only oil for the hemi expensive but makes the truck run much smoother/quiet

Hey,

I just take my truck to the dealership for the oil changes, so I'm not sure what brand they use. (probably just the "bulk" stuff). I know, my bad. I should inquire more about what oil is being used. The truck always runs great though.

I have read a lot about Redline and Royal Purple oil for the 5.7 Hemi's. I've seen Royal Purple in stores but not Redline. Is that available here in Canada do you know??

Most dealers use Pennzoil as they have a relationship with FCA. If Nick from Got Exhaust can't get you redline, I'm sure you can get it in Canada.

Use dealer locator, go to international, select North America, then Canada, then your region. Redline and RP are two vastly different oils. you have a PartSource near you?

With the super tight tolerances and tiny oil passages, you should use the 5w20 it was designed for. From what I understand you can have hydraulic issues from using too thick an oil.
When the miles are high I would probably go to a 10w30. Like 150k plus.
