Well, my Canadian(Canuck)friend, I appreciate your reply.

I've resided in the south since my father's military retirement (he was twenty years and one day, USAF).

I've been to many places around the world growing up an military brat and still get anxious and retort on some of the "southern drawl" that folks speak where I reside... and heck, my family has been southern from the git go ...,lol.
Being a Canuck about the only accent i can't handle are political accents, lol. These days listening to just about any politician p!sses me off :waytogo: :Big Laugh:

Recap: On a new oil change after 500 miles the truck would tick in the mornings for 5 minutes then stop ticking. Tore down for second time thinking lifter failure. Cam and lifter showed wear but nothing crazy. Did find a push rod (Melling brand) bent with another being suspect. During tear down found that engine had gotten gunked up. Possibly from all the additives I tried. Ran Valvoline restore and protect 5W-30 and XG2 filter.

Update: 3500 miles later. Everything is going well no ticks even at start up. Just did the oil change and while dirty everything looked good. Hope this helps some one with similar issue. Ive never experienced a bad push rod and this one tortured me for awhile. If your tearing one down do your self a favor and check your push rods. I bought a good brand and one went bad.
