Actually, 3 quarts of 0W20, and 4 of 5W20 would work out to 2.857W20:cheers:

ordered some PUP oil--instead of 5w20 I got 0w20 seems the 5w20 is out of stock--I have about 3 qts left from previous oil change--any problem mixing the 2 together for this il change--or should I return it and look elsewhere--thanks
Without checking the specifications, 0W motor oils usually means the oil has a lower pour point than the same product family's 5W version, and a slightly higher viscosity index. Since they are both Ultra Premium blend there should be no problem mixing them.

With a 2017 or newer engine it is important to use the recommended motor oil and weight for your climate. Tolerances are tighter and a heavier weight when cold could easily increase wear on the bearings.

No reason for you to accept the wrong weight oil and tuck your tail between your legs. I would send it back at get the right stuff for your truck's engine.

I would have used it and not thought twice about it unless I was towing. For an upcoming winter oil change what you had would have been perfect.

Grease you have to worry about mixing - different chemistries. Not a brand thing for grease as much as there are different greases and a few of them do not play well with the others.

I never worry about mixing oils - weights, brands, etc BUT I am also not doing extended oil change intervals. If pushing the oil to 10,000 miles or more, then I would try to keep the same oil together since the additive package does play more of a role.

But as Burla said, you would have been fine with what you had. Just a slightly better cold performance.
