Hey guys, just got my 35in Cooper STT tires and 18in xd wheels picked out...now it's time for the lift. I've been going back and forth between a RC 4in or 6in lift... and just couldn't figure out which to go with. I am calling the lifting place tomorrow evening to place the order, I will let the forum decide for me on the lift.

My truck is a daily driver for me while not at work (have a work issued vehicle).

4in lift looks great, but I don't want to regret not going bigger later. Can i later add more height without using a body lift?

6in looks great, but I think maybe it's too much? Especially if my wife drives my rig.

Anywho, what do you guys think?

And I've waited a year to do this modification!... can't wait to make a build thread afterwords.

A 4" would look good since you're going with 35's and more reasonable.. Easier for fitting in car wash to haha

I'm in the same spot you are right now. RC 6" is 4.75" rear and 6" up front. Have you considered a zone lift at all? They offer a 6"F/3"R kit, I have 35" tires and am 90% sure that's what I'll be going with.

P.S...almost everywhere I see on here in the discussion of 4" vs 6", almost everyone says you'll regret going with 4" if you do so, mainly since the difference in price is so very small.

If you plan to go off-roading get the 6" otherwise it's personal preference. To me a 4" looks great with 35's. But like I said if your going off-roading with it at all I would get the 6". I debated the 4.5"spindle and 3" coil setup from maxtrac I am running. I wanted the 7" on 37's but I only got off-road once in a while and it gave me enought lift and looks great with my 35's. The 7" for me was a height issue especially on 37's with some of the low roofs on parking garages. I barely clear not with maybe a 2" gap between my roof and the garage ceilings and the entrance to get to my vet also has l a low overhang to get in. Depends the look you like and what you want to do with it. Plenty of pics with people with 4 and 6" just see what fits your needs.

I was in the same boat and spent a lot of time researching...

heres what I decided on.

I went with the zone 6" front 3" rear lift. I will leave the front preload spacer out of the lift for now and I will not run 5100's now. what this will do from what I have researched and been told is this will put the truck about as a 4" lift. The bonus here is if I want to raise it down the road to a full 6" lift all I need to change in the front is add some bils and the preload spacer. For the rear all I would need to change in the rear is take it from a 3" spring set up to the 5" rear spring set up.

it is scheduled to be installed Wednesday... time will tell if I made the right decision!

ive heard people regrettin doing 4" but ive heard people with 6" and 37s wishing they went with 4" on 35s. so it depends. that's why I went the way that would cost me the least to raise if I get the itch down the road.

hope this helps,

good luck!

Thanks guys for your input, much appreciated. Looks like I'm going to go with the 4inch for a few reasons...

I go offroading occasionally... which pretty much means driving on gravel road lol.

I do contract work on my off days and go into low level city garages...I was told I could fit in with the 4inch.

Looking forward to finally getting this done.

For the guys getting ready to lift theres...get it done!! and post the pics.

If you went 6 inch I'd almost say to go 37 instead of 35. It also might be an issue in garages. I'm going with a 4 inch just so my parents and shorter friends can get in it without needing a laladder

If you go in garages you'll like the 4". I barely clear some in my 2wd with the 4.5" spindle and 3" rear springs with 35's. Also you may want to change your antenna mine went bouncing around in a garage or 2 on cross beams. Even after over 6 months with it lifted it still makes me cringe going into some garages.

What I hated was the level on a my 13 CC lone star in garages. I would have been even more worried with a 4" lift thand to Dodge and that stupid shark fin. I don't know how many times I expected to rip it off.

Anyone that's familiar with RC lifts...will the 4in keep my truck leveled or am I going to have to buy some front end leveling item?
