Well on a different tack at 72, living in farm country, driving in fields, dirt roads, gravel and dirt driveways, I go through the car wash when I get a chance to. My dog rides in the back seat most of the time so also lots of red dog hair in the interior to go along with all the dust. When the pollen or dust gets real heavy I may turn the hose on it to rinse it off.

Just wait. Everything takes several days for me now at 73.

I really should make a list of things that will make detailing and washing so much faster. Obviously getting a quality coating on it is the first step. Would y'all like for me to make a list out of my favorite products to make your detailing experience better? I was already thinking about doing a how to. I have been detailing cars for 22 years.

Absolutely. Would be insightful to see what you recommend. TIA

I take two or three days to do most projects, for the truck or just a project around the house.

I live in a VERY dusty area and the truck gets washed every week, never in a machine.

Polish, when I can !

About 3 years ago I had a detail shop install ceramic coatings on our vehicles - my wife's sedan and my truck. Since those coatings were installed I haven't waxed either vehicle - just wash, rinse and dry. A couple of times a year I would spray on a detailer and wipe that off - easy peasy. The coatings show no sign of losing the shine or water repellency. The draw back is the coatings were expensive...

Soooo... check out this thread on a product suggested by Treburkulosis...

I did this yesterday and I fully expect to have this coating perform like the product I paid a detailer for. Very DIY and all in less than $200.

I'm thinking of getting one of those foaming soap gadgets for my pressure washer to wash the rig with, then use a soft chamois to wipe it down afterwards. Wax when needed.
