Who says you can't teach old dog new tricks?

My rear U-joint went out so I had to change it out yesterday (replaced both while I was at it) and usually I would do it the old school way with a hammer, socket and pin. I looked at the repair manual and they used a table vise to press them out with. I don't have one yet but I do have screw type C-clamps so I thought I would give it a go...

What a breeze! I'll never dread changing the U-joints again. Oh by the way, 234,000+ miles on her as of date.

I should have taken pics, next time I will.

On the C-clamp I used, the threaded side of the clamp was smaller than the cap of the U-joint. On the opposite end I used a socket big enough to allow the opposite end of the U-joint cap to enter when compressed. Just tighten the clamp (after the retainer clips are removed) and she will pop out.
