I just had to post this.

So this is my first off road truck. I am not an expert, ****. I'm not even a novice. I have never been off roading before. (As a driver).

This power wagon is gonna get me in trouble!

I have been scouring the google maps for some places I can sneak off road, to do some testing. And get a feel for this thing. As stuff like disconnecting swaybars can get a beginner in trouble. So like I said, feel it out. Find out where SOME of the limits are.

Found a cool spot not far from my house. Had some pretty nasty muddy ruts, some bumpy straights. And some nice little hills.

Oh.... my.... God.... I've been in jeeps before, but this power wagon as TFL would say "just dont care".

Sorry for the long winded post. But I am AMAZED at the capability if this thing. And I'm not even putting into that bad of situations. Plus, I didnt even air down! ( I have a viair 400p on the way for this)

Pics or it didnt happen right?

(Testing was conducted on a closed course I will never tell you about) hahaha5c76a7002ac5dc75c001553bbea11ae5.jpg46139f8295a5fc44f2df31a5d06e4eab.jpg96c806ac5f2e84cb3395513ebfb8d967.jpgbe219ca712c3458ec583619716bd9136.jpgfd6046222ec35cbfa4e743e400da1090.jpgfe1d5b9997bd20ffd3e6b825d83a741e.jpg0bff4500813b3bd9892ca4382ce022d6.jpg58512f8c6521a3a39187e9799681a5c3.jpg

I was down there for maybe an hour. Found a little lake, so gonna take the wife dow this weekend and do some fishing.

This was a "scope out" trip hahah. But man, completely hooked. This thing is so much fun. And just seems to pull you through anything!

I do have a question though. In 4lo the truck shuts off traction control, or stability control... but when going through some mud. And the tires losing a bit of grip, the traction control light started flashing, and cut power. I about **** my pants. Thought I was screwed on my second outing lol. Can you turn this off? I used the button. But it didnt do anything lol.

Thanks on the charger. Traded my 12 ram 1500 for her on 2016 scat pack. Love the car and I only have about another year or so to pay her off. I do miss doing some light offroad with my ram...so I will be shopping for a 5th gen. Im in a good spot so some of the minor issues can be ironed out by the time I get one.

With that said, back to your truck. That some flexing that your doing there. Awesome. How is that 2500 ride? I know it might not be as a soft ride as a 1500, but that monster is built for exactly what you are doing.

The ride is a little more rough. I also had a 12 ram 1500. Lol. But it's an easy trade off as far as I'm concerned.

I got her flexing pretty good lol. Strange feeling. Especially when the truck just keeps going like everythi g is just fine at that angle hahah. It's crazy to me.

Touche! Lol. But hey, break her in the right way.. right? [emoji39]

Both of my 2500's turn off the traction control when I'm in 4 Lo in the woods no worries. I do recommend regardless what they say don't wait till your stuck to lock it in. That's one thing I miss about having manual hubs.

That’s a beautiful truck. Silver was my first choice but unfortunately none to be found at the time equipped like I wanted.

When you’re in the soft stuff I like to keep an eye on lines to trees or objects I can winch off. And I carry extra winch line extensions. I can tell you from experience when a 2500 goes down it’s a bigger deal to extract than a Jeep LOL.

Enjoy exploring with the new ride.

PS there’s a PW specific forum here, you might want to ask the mods to move this there for a better response.

See that's the weird thing. I was in 4 lo. Even had both diffs locked for the hell of it.

But when I hit that mud patch ANOTHER traction control looking light started flashing next to the solid TC light. And it cut power. Was really weird.

Thank you! This color was actually my second choice. But after owning it. I love the contrast of the silver and black now.

You better believe I also have a lit going for the essential recovery gear. First things are a snatch block. And tree saver.
I don't off road at all and I would still love to own a power wagon!

Hey man. Like I said in the original post. This is my first off road vehicle. Never driven off road before. And now I can get enough of it! It's a shame 90% of the land in Texas is private lol

I got most of my stuff from Factor 55. No Chinese stuff when it comes to recovery gear.

Nice! That's some sweet articulation on those.

I've watched quite a bit of TFL too. Andre's kinda funny.

That would be stability control. If you were off camber or had the truck wagging it will kick in.

Got to love the nannies

Where in Texas are you?

Speaking from experience, you can NEVER be too prepared when going off road. I encourage people to plan to get stuck and ensure you have the gear to get out of the situation. Plan for the unexpected.

Ahh. Makes sense. So wtf?? U hit a mud hole and the truck cuts power if it starts going sideways?? Sounds like a quick way to get stuck. Can you also turn off stability control?

Just North of houston. And I whole heartedly believe this also. At bare minimum I want a snatch block, tree saver, and a recovery strap.
