Need some suggestions please..

I'm in the market for an on board compressor, mostly just for filling up my tires with ease.. Ive seen the CO2 tanks that are kinda cool except that you have to take them to a filling station..

Or I would like an electric one that could simply mount inside my toolbox, and still be adequate.

Would be cool to be at a reasonable price (<$500?)

I had a Viair compressor tucked behind my front bumper on my old truck for the train horn tank. They are very inexpensive online and worked great.

I belive that's the same one I'm picking up in the morning, model# 10007?

Did you do the install yourself? Any pics of it installed and where/if you mounted the guage?

Im trying to find out if I can run this thing with my Spod..or If I need a toggle and relay.

Edit: max amp draw is 23amps and spod rated for 30amps, so should be good there.

Also.. Do you ever get in any deep mud? Wondering if I should mount around where my spare was or in my tool box..

I dont currently have any pics and dont have my truck on me(getting some work done)

I Have my tank bolted to the side of my frame
I have the compressor mounted on the sub frame rail in front of the radiator
Remote air to the compressor is located next to my intake.

I didn't bother using the gauge no point in it, when the compressor turns off its full lol and used the extra outlet tube to run my train horns.

Wiring it it is simple. It has its own relay so you want to put the power on the battery and the ground on the frame. There is a positive trigger wire, just put that on whatever type of switch you are using.

I have a OTRATTW switch with VIAR on it next to all my other light switches

ive had the tank through mud/snow/salt, no issues. The compressor remote intake doesnt get wet. As long as the remote intake is dry you're good

Im thinking that all this will make more sense once I see all the parts.

Or I hope so :)
