I'm inclined to buy a tank to use as a backup in case my compressor fails. Probably overkill, but.....

if you're only using it to air up tires, what would be the benefit of having a tank? I have a dual arb mounted in the engine of my 2012 and I'm looking to do something similar on my 2019 but might be it elsewhere. where is everyone mounting it? I don't want to put it in the bed and I don't have ram boxes so it needs to be in the engine bay or possible interior

My last 2 trucks I bolted to the frame and the 2 I have in my cart now are water tight enough to be submersible as well.
On my PW I’m mounting it under my cover on the side of my tool box to help muffler the sound. And it will supply 2 tanks that will be mounted on the frame rail on each side with an air Chuck on each side as well.

NICE!! I can see using that if you are mounting it in the bed of a truck or somewhere else out in the open. Otherwise, somewhere under cover like the hood/rambox/inner fender/etc I dont really see the point of it. It basically just offers protection, correct?

Yeah, I don't think you would need it if putting under the hood/rambox/etc. I was thinking for in the bed, or if using a contour rack system. I'm sure someone might find a creative use for it.

If you're airing any tires larger than 33", don't waste your time with a single unit compressor. Buy the ARB Twin and the small tank. I have one under the hood of my Jeep and I can refill tires back up to 35-40 PSI at twice the speed or faster than the others on a trail run using singles.

Oh, and order an S-Pod wiring switch system for it and their ARB harness. It'll make any wiring additions you make plug and play with pre-fused and relayed switches.
