I really think it's kind of false advertising. You buy a 4x4 to spin all 4 wheels when needed.

4 lock with open differential will handle the beach and other conditions but probably not as good as lsd rear. May have to invest in a rear locker.

It's 4wd, plain and simple, not 4x3 etc. The definition of 4wd is all wheels are driven, which is true all wheels will receive power, but your differentials allow one wheel to turn independent of each other, it's always been this way with 4wd. But some trucks have limited slips, or lockers, or spools that will lock or limit the left and right wheels from turning independent of each other.

Modern cars and trucks also use the application of the brakes to help direct power to certain wheels. With an open diff power takes the path of least resistance, for example braking the left wheel can send more power to the right wheel.

Drop the tire pressure to around 20psi and 4wheel drive you won't have a problem on the beach...make sure you clean the under carriage after you drive it on the beach...the salt and sand love to kill the under carriage
