On the road and had a tire cut with a rock so had to replace with one new. Wasn't really thinking when at the tire shop and just had them put it on the rear since that is where the spare was. Have about 10,000 miles on the other tire making about 1/16" difference in tread depth. By my calcs, this means the new tire will make about 4 revolutions less per mile than the old tire on the other side. Wondering if this will be a problem with the limited slip (understand it is a Eaton Truetrac from factory)? Should I take the time to move the new tire to the front so the back two tires are matched?

No. If it was that sensitive, you wouldn't be able to turn without a tire skittering.

New tires go on the back to reduce the risk of swapping ends under steering/braking input on low friction surfaces with a lighter rear end (such as in a slippery turn with no load in the back)

I agree,
the Limited Slip acts quite similar to an open differential
Except, while under power, like taking off a Green Light, if say the right rear begins to spin, the LSD engages the non spinning wheel
