I wonder how often assembly plant issues happen like this. Having worked in manufacturing plants over the years, I've seen some pretty expensive mishaps due to human error, programming glitches, mechanical failure, etc..

If it is like the places I have worked it is now to big of a liability to let it out of the plant. Any of the parts. Engineering may take some parts for testing but other than that it gets crushed and written off.
