Ha

My fogs don't leak. My h10 hid bulbs fit in really snug.

But seriously, Did it get in from behind the bulb seat? Not seated correctly?

I'd think they would fit snug the same as any other bulb would.

I dont think it came in through the seal... Looks like it maybe came in through the fan or something?

The seal is dry.

Btw, passenger light is back to working, it was something to do with the truck and not the led bulb.

So anyone care to explain EXACTLY how to get this bulb vertical? One of the tabs is meant to fit into only one slot being bigger than the other two. So there is only one technical way to seat the bulb. Now I see how trimming that one bigger tab so any tab will fit into any hole could help. But even then I mocked up the options and none would seat correctly being vertical. Unless you all are seating them just barely locked in and not fully seated.

Whoops, I just figured it out barely trimming the large tab a tiny bit. Haven't trimmed yet...

Do you not have a little bumper inside the housing to stop the tabs?

edit: I think I see your bumper but mine is further down the outside 3/16 or so...

uploading a pic of mine seated...

No flash, flash...I can essentially flip that bulb and by trimming the large tab 1/16 of it's width I can insert then turn to rest on that tab and it will be perfectly vertical. You can see the base enough to know the slanted orientation of the bulb. It has LEDs facing like 7/1.

Remove the set screw. That helps

The aim adjustment screw?

Doesn't my stopping tab and Austin's appear to be in two different locations? Therefore creating two different positions when bulb is seated...

I'm going to jump in on this. I installed my Opt7's a few months back and had to play with them a few times. I have the single bulb headlights which means my high and low beams are produced by the same bulb.

The bulbs have to be EXACTLY 9/3. When I first installed mine, I turned them completely to the stops in the bulb socket. Those were too far, putting my bulb to nearly 10/4 and creating a dark spot on the road while driving. So I had to rotate them back to exactly 9/3. Luckily, the sockets were still tight enough to hold the bulbs in place. I hope this helps.

Okay, that makes sense then. I could prob do the same but from inserting tabs into slots and beginning to turn and 9/3 is all at the first tiny tiny bit of turn. I think it would work but not too comforting.

So your tab must be the same place mine is then Adam? I wonder if it changed in a certain model year.

I did trim a tad off the big tab and now I have the option to insert any slot into any hole. This way I found the closest way to vertical. Then the tab the little stop I shave a tad to allow a touch more if needed. I will say mine were not 100% vertical, prob with 10% and there was no dark spots. Of course my next problem that I aimed all the way down and now I can't get them to come back up. So my test drive down the road yielded solid light everywhere but only about 22ft in front of me.
