Has anyone ever tried this, or, even seen such a thing? I ask, because 1) I like Orange and have some accents on my truck already, and 2) I pass a fellow commuter (going the opposite direction) several days out of the week that has Orange foglights on his Tundra and I like the way it looks.

Now, I would think that the light would be usable, as it is somewhat close to yellow (which is the preferred fog light color), but I'm not really sure. My low beams and fog lights are currently OPT7 Fluxbeam-X LED's. I really like them and have been happy with them. I tried doing a quick search on Amazon for some Orange LED bulbs, but couldn't come up with much.

I'm wondering if it's an actual bulb that would work, or would I have to laminate the fog-light lenses with some vinyl to get the color? Anyone have any ideas? It may not even be a good idea, I don't know.

Here's an option

I've noticed that most covers, lenses, etc don't really change the color of the light output much or very accurately - i.e. amber covers that really only change the output to yellow. Also, unless you find an actual LED that pits out the color you want, your output will suffer. Any covering/coating/filter, by definition will reduce the output - if even slightly - of the light.

Better to find a diode that actually emits the color you're after, though orange might be a challenge. THese my Rigid ambers which are sort of orange.

This^^

Although I purchased yellow laminex with my morimoto LED fogs I didn't apply it. The morimoto's only produce 1200 lumen each, so the laminex would just make them weaker. The OPT7's are much stronger so the hit won't be as tough, but a hit nonetheless.

That's about the color I'm after. I'm thinking a bulb would be the best way to go.

This is the only thing that I have found so far: https://smile.amazon.com/labwork-pa...id=1547830060&sr=8-8&keywords=Orange+9006+led

But, like I said, I haven't done much looking yet.

Try searching for the color AMBER instead of orange and you'll find more choices although most colors seem to be a more yellow.

https://www.amazon.com/s?k=amber+9006+led&ref=nb_sb_noss_2

diode dynamics has the SLF in a "yellow" color. A member here installed them but they don't seem that bright however it could just be the camera/pic

They do sell a yellow tinted lense as well

Yea, I've seen the amber, but like you said, most of those are closer to yellow. That's one reason I'm searching for orange - to try and sort out the yellow versions.

I can't even find a good light emitting graph that shows the difference between the yellow and orange, although in the wavelength charts, they are very close.

search for a Kelvin color chart, orange/amber is more of a 2700k, the yellow is 3000k iirc

I have been planning on this same mod myself so hopefully you can help me decide on a path forward and bulb selection lol

Nah. Laminx drastically changes the color. LEDs are pure white so it doesn’t take much to alter the color 94c96e427cb796f3d3eddbbe78523a34.jpg6031f5e3f33cfdce37b3ab6dd6a9a505.jpg85327ad47e5e1cc41746af7b48e4e73d.jpg

What are you using for tint and bulbs? That's about the closest to Orange that I've seen - as far as true output pictures go.

I have found a couple Orange/Amber bulbs at different online places, but no reviews, so I'm hesitant to try them. A few that are super cheap ($10-$20), but that doesn't seem to envoke a lotta trust that they'll actually put out any light.

I tried super cheap. Figured what the hell. The bulbs didn't do a ton by themselves. I liked it, but wanted deeper color, vso when I had windows done I had him do my lights with a sample sheet he had gotten from someone. The night pic is the bulbs by themselves. These is the color of the tint. Bulbs have been in for a year so far. 8cab6330a20469cae2ff3559ecd68ebf.jpg524cef45fde67d9090b460a709616518.jpg3e7e39fbc570fa1a01eff2364b235be5.jpga9737e93170376a53c5e2723f09112dc.jpg

I had heard good things about the ICbeamer lights. So figured a 6 dollar experiment was worth a try. I don't think I would have tried in my headlights.

I went with Diode Dynamics LED Driving Light Kit in amber with the wide optic. They have 2 versions depending on what trim you have. Sport/express or standard (chrome bumper)
I was skeptical especially for the price, but I am very happy with the results and happy that I went with them.

Well, just to give a little update. I had to do some tinkering on the wife's Durango to fix the headlight situation with it. While I was at it, I went ahead and tried a set of Amber fog lights from Amazon. $20, I figured why not. She needed some, and if they worked out well on her car, I'd order a set for the truck. Well, they aren't very good. The color is right. I like the way they look, but there is no output from them. Can't even tell that they are on, actually. So, I'm going to start trying some of these that you all have recommended and see what they do.

Here's what I tried on the Durango: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079VTTB4R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
