Order Update

Well, I ordered my new truck (ram 2500 outdoorsman megacab) on 7/25 and about 5 days ago I got an email from Ram giving me my VOT tracking info and letting me know that my truck is Scheduled for Production. I just checked the status today and it remains the same, so no truck arriving anytime soon. if anyone has experience with ordering a truck and can let me know appx. how long it will take to deliver the truck, please let me know.

i never ordered a truck like that, but it sounds like it's gonna be bad ass. I do have a question, since it's already late in the year, i hope you get the 2013 model and not a 2012 model.

Enjoy your toy...i sure as hell is enjoying my 1500. Post some pics of that beauty when you get it.

From the time I ordered my 1500 it took a month and half to come in. Anytime between 6-8 weeks

Holy man... congrats on the order but wow on the time.

Mine was scheduled for production within 48 hours of order and went into Frame/Paint about 3 weeks after order, and went into Shipment phase 4 days after that. From there, it was an arduous 17 day wait for delivery.

Hope this helps... I'd say the times would be pretty much the same after your truck enters the "FRAME" phase.

Thanks guys! It is worth the wait to get what I want, but over 8 weeks is crazy! I've ordered several vehicles before and it never took longer than maybe a month or so. The dealership said the plant is running almost a month behind, so maybe by the end on Oct I'll have the truck. The dealer told me.he ordered a 5500 for a guy in May and its still not in. He said the 5500's usually take longer,but not that long. I hope that the big jail break in mexico didn't hold up production. With my luck my truck will get here and they'll be a illegal Mexican hidden in the dash or something and I still won't be able.to get my truck!

My wife has three Chihuahuas. Since Santillio is in the Chihuahuan desert we joked that Chihuahuas built my truck. It would explain a lot about your delay considering how much these dogs sleep!!!

My uncle ordered a 2500 with every bell and whistle except the Rambox and it took bout 4 months. Wondering if the 3/4 and 1 tons take longer to build. Either way it was worth it when he got it,

My 2500 was 1 day shy of 8 weeks.

3 at one time

Three of us were in the market for new rides and decided to visit the local dealer at the same time in hopes to get the best deal. Wouldn't you know it, couldn't find a single one for any of us so we all made orders. 2 3500's and one '13 Wrangler. Order placed on 8/28/12 and we all recieved confirmation from Chrysler on 8/30/12. 9/18/12 I recieved the Vin email, 9/24/12 the other 3500's email and finally on 9/26/12 the Wrangler was recieved. Email stating production started recieved today, though it was in paint at that time. I'll post back as I hear more on the status of any of them.

The wait continues!

Just to let you know I ordered my 2500 on June 11 and hopefully it will be here on Monday Oct.1st, first they ran out of Hemi's then the rail cars were damaged so hopefully it will show up Monday. Thanks man...I'm kinda thinking that be since its a megacab they had to wait to get more megacab orders before they start to build. I hope I get it before the end of October!

An update on the 3 at one time. My truck is in "Shipment" status and other two have yet to enter the build status. With regard on how long this takes, my understanding is, dealers order about once a quarter, so if you just miss their order time, your wait will be a ong time. The one thing you need to ask your dealer is, when are they placing order from manufacture.
