I have a 2017 Ram Laramie 5.7 Hemi with all the features on the mirrors. When it's not raining & I press the button to fold mirror into the vehicle, the passenger side will not fold in. When it's raining both sides work fine. Can WD40 or something similar be sprayed at the the pivot to get it to work, rain or shine, or should I take the mirror housing off? How would this be accomplished?

I use WD-40 all the time to lubricate mirrors but it's only temporary most of the time. I normally disassemble the mirror and put some grease inside on the pivot point.

Look closely at the mirror where it it almost touches the door
I have not taken a electric folding mirror apart
If i recall, there is a small plastic panel that comes off
that may be an access panel for the pivot point

My passenger mirror wouldn't power fold a few weeks ago.

I manually flipped it a few times. It's been working every since. I believe it just needed to be reset.

My 2014 RAM R/T did the same thing. Passenger side quit folding in for a few weeks then started working again a couple of days ago.

By the way
WD 40
WD stands WATER Displacement
40 was the number of formula tries before they were happy with the results

The story behind WD 40

To see how well it works, use something like a water hose to clean out your non Hemi powered engine compartment, or something like a lawn mower or motorcycle engine. (Spark plugs on a HEMI may be too deep to clear water away), ( i would use a suction device, to get most of the water away )

If the engine does not start, use WD 40 to spray the spark plugs & the boots, the distributor may have water in or around it.
The military did not have an air nozzle to blow the water away, but a shot or two of WD 40 did the trick nicely
Of course it happens that over time, the Military & regular people have discovered 100s of other uses
