Overhead Console Single led?

My new to me 2014 Sport QC has the overhead console. There is a single led by the power sliding window control that is always on if the headlights are on (it shines down on the console). Is this the way it is supposed to work or is there a way to turn it off that I haven't figured out yet?

It's a decorative light, that is on with your console lights. It will dim with your console as well, and will shut off if you slide the dimmer all the way down.
