Hey guys its my first time one here but i just need some help
Ok so i was driving my truck 02 dodge ram 1500 with a 4.7 v8 magnum engine and i was driving i noticed my truck had kinda lost some power like it slowed down a little bit but i didnt pay no mind and then my cluster beeped and said check gauges and i noticed the the temperature gauge was almost to the red and i started pulling over and i got out and noticed that the lower radiator hose had busted and so i went to get a new one and installed it and filled up my antifreeze then when i try to crank it up the truck wouldn't start up it would just crank but wouldn't turn over then i called a friend and he said that my type of truck had a reset that i had to hold down the gas pedal and turn the key and then it would start up it started up and then it sounded all nasty then a lot of white smoke came out the tail pipe the it ran for like 2 min and shut off so i got it towed to my house and i checked the oil it looked normal to me then i took out a spark plug to crank it and see if any coolant would come out and it didn't also the number one spark plug was all bent to hell the number three was too and the number 5 and 7 plugs were fine i didn't check the rest please help me out im trying to fix my truck let me know if i need a new motor or not i was thinking about just replacing the spark plugs that are bad and leaving the good ones and try to turn it on and see how it runs and sounds thanks

That doesn't look or sound good at all. Start with the cheapest and easiest stuff. We know it needs plugs so replace them and see where that gets you. Oh and replace ALL the plugs, not one here and one there. They're cheap and you can keep troubleshooting without wondering if one of the plugs you didn't replace is causing an issue.

The 4.7 guys will probably have more info. From everything I've read on here they seem to overheat easily and when they do it can be pretty bad.

Don't have anything to contribute, but welcome to the forum, and hopefully it all works out for ya.

Theres nothing to lose by replacing the plugs besides a few bucks. Unfortunately by the looks of the plugs it got real hot. Hard to say the extent of damage that occurred and the temp gauge doesn't mean much when theres no coolant in the block.

Keep a close eye on it, 4.7's are notorious for warping heads and dropping valve seats once they've been overheated.
