I'm certainly no authority but my take on things after much reading is that brand is probably less important than regular oil changes. The Hemi's don't like dirty oil.

Oils with high moly content seem to be favored though.

Agree! I keep my trucks for a long time. Based on my experiences, regular oil & trans change intervals are key. I change the oil every 4K - 5K miles and tranny every ~35K. I use Mopar oil and filter and be done with it.

I don't have a oil change package. Dealer uses the Mopar Max conventional oil (made by Pennzoil as I've been told).

The "real" oil thread on here is only about 600 pages long and would make "War and Peace" seem like a paperback. LOL. It would take you days and days to read and you'd be just about the same place you are now. I got no recommendation for you--only sympathy if you have to read that whole thread. Seriously I use Pens 5-20 Synthetic and have great success, but your going to get about a thousand different answers---good luck

He might get 1,001 preferences, LOL. I am thinking of going up to 5W 30 from 5W 20 due to the heat, but looks like we have been lucky this year, lol, gotta be quiet, not wanna jinx the weather.

The worst is yet to come. Anyway I think the synthetic oil thread is the best read on the entire forum!

Or, ask specific questions, starting with what vehicle you're asking about.

With all three Rams I have used manufacturer-recommended oil at defined change periods with zero problems well over 200k miles. Works for me with no additives, heavy towing, city and highway miles.

My 2019 5.7 had an occasional lifter tick when started warm. Would last just a couple of seconds and quit. I was using Valvoline full syn 5w20.

Last oil change was Royal Purple 5w30 and so far no lifter tick. I always use royal purple filters. We’ll see.

find lubegard biotech and try 15 ounces, if fca does the "it's normal" thing.

Well ,they do the diagnosis inside and road test and do not finding anything wrong with the engine, they say just keep driving and if I see this get worsened then come back, but for now, just drive.
