I have a 2015 RAM 1500 5.7 4x4 that's been having some issues. Recently, it stopped running. The engine would crank over and run fine for about 3-5 seconds before shutting down. I have code P018B, which is a fuel pressure sensor circuit issue. I have attempted the following, none of which have solved the issue:
1. Replace Fuel Pressure Sensor
2. Replace fuel pump
3. Verified there are no grounding issues

I also manually tested the fuel pressure, which was within proper range.

The only other thing I could think of that might be causing this issue is the PCM. When dealing with previous issues on this truck, more than half of the time when scanning codes, there was a very long list of loss of communication codes. When troubleshooting this current issue, every once in a while, I would get very weird codes like C1AC1, which I can't find any info on for these trucks. The PCM was replaced by the previous owner.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue or have any suggestions? TIA.

Don't take this wrong, but you are just throwing parts at it. By checking fuel pressure you at least tried to do some diagnostics. Did you test the pressure before or after installing the new pump? If the fuel pressure was correct, then the fuel pump itself is fine and the circuits to it are fine. If you are getting fuel to the engine, the next step is to verify if the injectors are firing and if the plugs are igniting. A decent scan tool with live data can show you injector pulses (basically if the injectors are firing, or at least being commanded to fire) along with the ignition. You should also be able to see what the fuel pressure sensor is saying to the ECM. With that code obviously look at the fuel pressure circuit. Keep in mind the codes has the term "circuit" in it, and does not mean the only possible issue is the sensor itself. From my experience at least half the time you see a code about some sensor circuit, the sensor itself is just fine and it's the wiring or connectors someplace that are causing the issue. I would also look at the security features of the truck. It's been a few years since I've worked on one for that reason, but I know if the security codes/anti theft system were messed up it's was common for a vehicle to start and run for a few seconds and then turn off. The random loss of communication codes you state make me suspicious of something along those lines....and a possible cause being a bad/rubbed through wire, loose connector, corrosion at some pins etc...

A good scan/diagnostics tool is invaluable in trouble-shooting issues like this. You don't need the $5,000 version but the $50 auto parts special won't do it.

I have parts in my garage, that are in boxes
There are not NEW

Like one part is from a 1999 Chevy P.U. 5.3L , that i once owed
I had no way to check parts & i was about 30 minutes from home.

The parts cannon came out !!

I bought several parts that might work & put them all on the truck.

The Truck started which was my goal.

Those old parts have not been tested to this day !!

Some day, someone will stop by when i am under the hood of my current Ram.
They will ask if i happen to have any Ignition parts for a Chevy V-8 & i will tell them that the parts may be NFG, but they may work.

Up to about 1500 years ago, i had a garage wall with well used Harley Davidson parts, most of them were Stretched Out Chains.
Other HD Riders would drop off their Old Chains & the word was out that i had them.

Most Harley Davidson Stores are closed on Sunday & Monday & of course After Hours.
Chains do not break when Bike Stores are open :(

I had a Chain Breaker & other tools needed to change out chains, etc. & lent them out .
