Alright everyone I hope this is in the correct discussion, but I've got 2007 ram 3500 5.9 with the P0513 skim failure code. I want to start off by saying ive owned this truck for over 6 years and has been tuned with EFI Live for around 5 years(if that was to be asked). 6 months ago is when I started having issues, I drive to autozone for some stuff get out and lock my truck like normal, when i come back out 5-10 minutes later my truck will not unlock no matter how many times i tried. i manually unlock the truck and start it, does the typical shutoff after a few seconds. I go back in buy a new key fob battery seeing if that was the problem and that didnt help. I call a mobile lock smith and he reprograms my two keys(i use the same key for 6 years slap a new key in my untouched spare and that didnt work either). my truck lost the key program and he fixed that. Everything has been working just fine for the last 6 months until this week. Same bs happens again leaving work but this time after a few minutes i got it to unlock and start, i park it at home and for a week it will not lock/unlock or start. I try disconnecting the batteries and let the power drain for a few hours with no luck, a few days later I check fuses and they seem good(didnt test any power to them) I notice the battery cable to the fuse panel is corrode and i clean it up. magic the truck unlock/locks and starts for a few days so i think it was maybe it. few days go by and it fails to work. Now its been almost 2 weeks and its been an on off problem where sporadically decides work and but mostly not. i know this is a bit of a read but im lost, every thread ive read has stated the battery in the fob has nothing to do with the chip in the key, BUT for me if my truck doesnt unlock via the fob unlocking the anti theft it will NOT start it will shut off after a few seconds. Could my keys just be failing, Could my WCM that reads the chip be failing, bad grounds, what else could i look into? Any help would be awesome and I appreciate any insight on my problem! Thanks for reading the long painful read.
