Hey guys I'm at wits end and am calling for backup. Here it is:
98 1500 with 5.9 gas. Replaced engine 24k miles ago. All was well, another day saved, when she started bucking and check engine came on. Pulled in to have code read and was throwing p1391 and some kind of "under charge" code. Picked up cps and pick-up coil, changed both. No change and amp meter fell off to nothing. Pulled alternator, tested, it passed and was reinstalled. Charging issue never returned but 1391 remains. Checked flexplate...good shape. Swapped ecu...no change. Replaced cps and coil again...no change. Cap, rotor, wires, plugs changed...no go. All ground connections look good. I'm stuck and she won't even start now.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

1391 appears to be a crankshaft or camshaft position sensor issue.

I would check the resistance of the sensors and the wiring to them.

It could also be caused by mechanical issues - such as the timing chain.
