I want to get some extra mineral gray paint from the dealer to do some various things..

Can they get it to me in a rattle can? Or how does it come?

If I'm not mistaken, it only comes in a touch-up "tube or pen" from the dealer. I'm sure a company like color rite will sell the oem color paint in rattle cans.

The paint match of the OE stuff in cans is fine for non touching surfaces.
But if you were trying to paint door handles / mirrors or something else directly bolted to a painted surface, I'd have a shop do it for ya.

My goal was headlights... Think it'd look alright?

Think it'll work just dandy. Once you paint and clear them, if you can, give them a day or two to out-gas before sealing them up.

I'm hoping your putting some projectors in too while you're at it.

Yeah, thats the plan. It's a down-the-road project, just trying to get all my info together before i buy all the components.

I need to find a how-to on clear coating.

Color code is PDM and sales code is CDM. ;) I painted my tailgate handle and antenna base and it matches almost perfect.

Yes, it's spray can I ordered from the dealer and I ordered a 2-part clearcoat called SprayMax from Amazon if I remember correctly.

I actually did this to my SRT. Opened them up and color matched the interior lining with the bright silver metallic of the exterior of my car. Looked pretty good! I did a couple buddies also cause they liked it too... Ive done an orange and a red one.

Excellent. Thanks guys.

I may also paint black... but paint the front facing edges in mineral gray. Haven't yet figured out my look yet, but its a little down the road.

I want to paint the antenna base too.
