Paint issues?

Bought this truck used, noticed the clear coat had ran on the hood and was cracking on the roof and starting to crack on the hood.

Leads me to believe its been resprayed, unless this is a common problem with rams from 2006.

I'm also noticing the bars under and above my sliding rear window are fading kinda weird. I don't know what the fix for either of these problems is and have this false hope that if its fixed early on it'll be cheap...

I also have an 06 and its starting to have tiny crack spots in the bottom of the driver door.

I think it's just about that time for the 06's paint to start goin I suppose.

More than likely it just wasn't maintained properly from previous owners. Clay baring, waxing and washing is vital, especially in Florida to keep paint and clear coats looking fresh. Is it concentrated to that specific area or what? As for the bars on the slider, get some black vinyl strips and apply over them. It will look better.

Yeah, this is why used cars are a tough buy for me, seeing as I take care of everything from the day I get it to the day I get rid of it.

That being said I wonder if the previous owner romped on it a lot.

Hmmm, maybe. I wash my truck every weekend...and hand dry it. treat all my plastics with treatment after I hand dry it and all. Just so my paint stays looking fresh. I do my interior every other week...full detail of the dash, door panels, etc. full cleaning and treatment.

I get Thursdays and Mondays off of work so typically I'll do the outside on Monday and the inside on Thursday, but if its raining ill go the other way around. Never fails though.

That looks like a truck that has never been waxed and left in the sun all the time to me.
