What’s a good process or paint to use for interiors panels? I want to paint some parts of the door panels and center console, but I want it to hold up to reasonable abuse without scraping right off. I’ve been using rattlecan paint but I doubt that will hold up on high traffic areas like door panels. I want to do something similar to this

Have you thought about interior dye? Most of them do come in rattlecan form but seem to be fairly hardy long term.

No I haven’t, I don’t have much experience with them. I’m not opposed to smoothing out the panel with body filler or sanding it smooth and then painting. What’s the difference between a dye and a paint?

Good question lol...I've used the dyes to color match replacement interior parts or to bring old beat interior parts back to life.

Ok thanks I’ll look into both of those. Only problem is I need a custom color to match my other accent pieces. I used the factory color paint from autozone, dark red sprayed over black to get a certain color. It’s gonna be hard to match 57bd134ef852c0118ce185226ef8f2ee.jpg
