Brought my truck in to replace a broken wheel stud on the drivers side rear guess they had to back off my parking brake to pull the rotor off.
Now it seems I have to press the pedal a little over half way and it still barley holds, brought it back and they said thats the way it's suppose to be set at even though I told them I barley had to press it before to set the parking brake.
I didn't want to argue anymore so I tried adjusting it myself but still can't get it right. Which way do I turn the adjuster to tighten the shoes up or down?
My driveway is on a slight incline and I hate having the trucks weight resting on the transmission.

Thanks

Sorry, I cannot answer your question on the direction to rotate the star wheel adjuster.

However, it used to be that it would adjust as necessary on it's own when you brake while going in reverse. Not 100% sure if that still works on these trucks or not.

IIRC the drivers side is up and passenger side is down but don`t hold me to it. I just went through this on my 14 ram. The drivers side lever was rusted/frozen. I freed it up and replaced my rotors and brake pads. The park brake was so tight it warped one rotor. Now my park brake functions fine but have to push it almost to the floor so it seems like I now need to adjust them up some more. I`m kinda afraid to get them too tight. It doesn`t take much movement on the star wheel to adjust them.

That doesn't apply to parking brakes. That was for the old rear drum primary brakes. Our trucks have 4 wheel disc brakes with a separate drum brake for parking. Once adjusted it should never need readjusting as it doesn't wear unless you're driving around with your parking brake on.

Are there adjustments at the pedal? Mine releases but I have to lift up a little on it to make the light go off. Wonder if a release spring is broke or something. Thoughts?
