I have a rattle that's driving me absolutely crazy. It's coming from my passenger side dash area. I honestly thought it was just something in one of my glove compartments, or in the door storage area. However, I've taken everything out and it's still happening. It's most noticeable when I'm on the interstate and doesn't usually do it at all when I'm going less than 35mph. Bumpy roads don't seem to affect it, so is it possible it's something on the exterior being impacted by wind? Any help would be appreciated. I've posted a link to a video. It's not the greatest and doesn't make it seem as loud as it sounds while driving.

I've read through as many discussions as possible and haven't seen one that addresses this. Apologies if there is one out there and I just missed it.

I recall a post from sometime ago on this forum about a dash rattle on the left side of the dash (I know your rattle is on the right). I don’t have a link.

The poster stated he removed the small plastic covers on the top of the dash, near the windshield, to access a bolt on each side.

The left bolt was loose and not tight. (He had bought the vehicle new.)

The poster used a socket wrench to tighten the bolt several turns, to make it snug. That eliminated the dash rattle.

Perhaps check the same area and bolts on your dash?

Just for a quick check

In your HVAC Controls, set it to Recirculate
that closes off the Fresh Outside Air

then take a drive

I had one very similar to that - from nearly the same location too.

Open the hood, and look at the wiper cowl. I pulled out the christmas tree fasteners that was holding it down (leaving it to float) on the wiper cowl. Noise gone.

I tried to then line the contact points with felt tape and reinstall the fasteners, but no avail, the noise returned. The fasteners have been removed, and it's been quiet for years. If I cared more, I would really hunt what was rubbing and where....but....the wiper cowl has no where to go, it's already trapped by the wiper arms, and doesn't move while driving. I almost feel bad to say 'good enough' is 'good enough' on this one for me.

Give it a try - let us know.
