Hi guys...I just got a 2018 1500 sport brand new...and it is to quiet hehehe

I live in Vancouver area and I need some advice about the exhaust.

My first option is the electronic cutout...I think this way of deleting the muffler is great to have the pure v8 sound and you also can make it sound as stock early in the morning to not bother the neighboors...

besides that, there is a lot of good choices like flowmaster and borla...I need some advice!

Any canadianto help here also to nominee a nice muffler shop?

Cheers!!

Is there any reason you are not thinking about getting both, a good quality electric cut out and a good performance muffler. You could have them both installed at the same time. I have a 22" Magnaflow on my truck which I really like. The one thing I found that made the most difference in the sound of almost any muffler you buy, is installing 5" tips. It makes the sound a lot deeper and more mellow.

I vote for both as well. Otherwise all you have is too quiet and too loud. LOL!

We offer many options but the by far most popular one is Carven. They are high quality, sound great, and its an easy install. I am not a big fan of cut outs because they often fail and leak.

You can find their muffler kits and optional 5" tips here on our site https://gotexhaust.com/c-1183874-ram-owners-preferred-products.html

Since you are in Canada message me for a quote shipped to you with your forum discount.

I agree with Jay on this one. I would run a quieter free flowing muffler like the 22" Magnaflow or Borla ProXS, and add a cutout. Stock is too quiet, and an open cutout can be too loud, so this gives you the best of both worlds. The larger Borla and Magnaflow mufflers have a deep and mellow tone that is very comfortable while cruising.

If you don't wan't to pissed off the neighbors, I suggest you get a Magnaflow 22" (5x11) installed to get a little more sound (deeper) at startup/idle and while cruising (drone free), but get that loud V8 sound when you really get on it (love flooring mine in tunnels). The smaller mufflers like Carven, Borla Pro XS or smaller Magnaflow might not sound too loud while driving (some might drone), but will have much louder startup.

Like Nick mentioned the cutout will eventually leak, but if you don't mind replacing it once in a while they are a good option too.

Just remember, OP, sound (not volume) is subjective, so while one person may say a Borla ProXS (or your fave here) is loud, another may say it ain't! My ProXS is pretty much perfect, even with stock-diameter tips. It's not bad on cold startup nor does it drone too much at cruise, but it's definitely louder than stock on acceleration. If you watch vids of any muffler review, be sure to check out all three phases, plus idle, as every different model will sound different, as you're probably aware.

Enjoy the research...and don't forget to check out the for sale section here. That's where I got my ProXS, at a price substantially lower than any retailer could've provided me!

Never had an issue with mine. As with everything, you get what you pay for. :Big Laugh:

Good to hear. I agree you do get what you pay for. I tried 3 different brands, 2 of which were "supposed" to be better quality ones and they all did the same thing. leaked and failed.

Then again, my 2015 in a garage queen that never gets driven in inclement weather. That may be the difference. Who knows.

Could be, mine saw North east winters but the vehicles were kept very well and frequently cleaned
