I have a similar incident. Bought a new 2017 Ram Sport and while they were doing the dealer prep a porter hit the left front door with the wash wand, inch long scratch in the door. Dealer said they would take care of it and even gave me a loaner truck. Their “body man” tried to fix it over then next two weeks with no luck (and little skill ) finally the dealership took it to a real body shop and the fix was complete. I really can’t say enough about my dealership, San Marcos Ram, it took awhile but in the end it was fixed right and I drove their truck for 2.5 weeks.

My dad had similar with one of his Nissan trucks. Brought it in for service, as the porter was pulling it out of the building, cuts the wheel too hard and takes out the bed on the bollard post.

They took a bed off another truck and gave that to him.

I'll brag on a Dealership here in NC. My daughter bought a 2006 Honda Civic. The motor had a recall. Blocks were cracking at the oil filter. While they had her car replacing the engine, they called her and said her clear coat should not look like it did. They did body work and painted her car! She had a new loaner from them for 3 weeks. New motor, new paint and a three week loaner... No Charge!

What they didn't tell you is the tech took it to get lunch and it was hit by a train on his way back.

I would bet "something" happened that required them to do a repaint.

If it sounds to good to be true then it probably is.

I took my 17 2500 in early last Aug to get the oil changed. When they brought it around, they squeezed in a tight spot so I didn't take a at things before I got in as I was concentrating on not hitting the car next to me with my door. When I got home, t noticed on the drivers rear door a huge "V" shaped scratch. It looked like the tech had something sticking out of hi back pocket and made contact with the door when he got out in that tight spot. I called the dealership and spoke to the Service Director. He asked me to send them pics which I did. Later made an appt. to drop it off to get it fixed. Not only did they take care of it without any gripes, they offered to drive it home for me as we were in the hospital for the birth of my Son. Fantastic service from those guys so far!

As much as I hate to say as much as I love my truck I equally hate the dealership I bought if from.

took my truck into to have the USB looked at as it was not functioning after I updated it

I am standing right there the guy drives it into the bay and pens the door right into the lift up right

Big nick into the center of the door panel, they tried everything to fix and ended up having to re-paint it, took them 3 tries and the paint still looked like crap and they put the RAM letters on with different spacing than the other side ???

Ended up taking it to a pro shop to have them repaint the door on my own dime, Guy could not believe a dealership did such crappy work.

I am at the point I don't have the faith to leave my truck at the dealership anymore, at least at the dealership I bought it at. Seems like it is a bunch of kids in auto shop at a high school

The dent is one thing, but how childish of the mechanic (or whoever dented it) to just leave it and hope they could get away with it. That part of personal responsibility in life seems to have disappeared. Now you have to try and get the service manager to buy into the fact his service department did it. If the mechanic brought it to his service manager's attention, he might have gotten in trouble so instead he will just avoid all responsibility.

LOL...I had the same thing happen with one of my crew cab duallys. Porter made the turn too tight and tore the dually fender right off a 3 month old truck. I'm glad those fenders back then could be replaced individually rather than the whole fender like now...Worst part was I was sitting in the Svc Mgr's office bull****ten and saw the whole incident as it transpired...First words out of the Svc Mgr's mouth were"Please don't kill the kid till I can hire his replacement"

Just goes to show how baaaaad the FCA corporation is....Honda does BACKFLIPS for their customers, and gives your daughter great service...While my RAM had to sit at a dealer for 2 weeks just to get a P.S. hose replaced.......

Anyone remember when McDonalds had those numbers up above the drive thru windows. They were shaped like a triangle that would spin and had a "1 2 or X" on the three sides? Well I had just bought a Honda CRX as I was preparing to graduate college. I was on way back to school from dealer and my friend wanted McD's. I said I'd stop but no eating in the car. Any how, I get to window to pay and there is this thud on top by the door and then this thing falls past the window. That stupid like numbers thing fell off their building and hit top of car and then down the side of my door. I was freaking out and the employee looks out the window and says, its ok it didn't damage anything. I don't even get out of car and i look out and down the door and I was like that wasn't there before and he's like are you sure? Yes I freaking sure, I haven't even gotten home from buying it at the dealer yet. They paid pretty quickly thou. I take lots of pics now a days when dropping off

All depends pos your dealer. I have two Ram dealers here in Tucson and honestly they both suck at any kind of service. Hence why I bought the truck and take it to Phoenix for oil changes and ****. I had a recall on a pinion nut and they were trying to do it in a hour. He came out and was like no, yours is pretty badone. By time they finished telling me that, they already had a rental car their for me. Called me next day to say it was going to be another day and to come back whenever I was free after that. I ended ups with a whole new rear axle assembly on mine and a rental at no charge and no hassle.

Your daughter must be a smoking hot momma for a dealership to bend that far backwards. Lol!
