Decided to plasti dip my stock wheels, everyone does black but I decided to go bronze!
The process is rather easy and very forgiving if you make an oops. I have done several vehicles and wheel sets in the past few years. The feature I like is when I get tired of them I can just peel it off like vinyl and be back to stock.
Use 1 can of black plasti dip per wheel - 4 coats to establish your base coat.
Use 1 can of gold plasti dip metalizer for the bronze look, apply thin coats until you are happy with the color shade. This is really up to your preference as the more coats you add the lighter/brighter the metalizer will look.
Use index cards to line between wheel and tire, not nevessary but eliminates overspray removal from the tires.
Use plastic bags or tape n drape to cover brakes/rotors
Key is plenty of thin coats, minimum 8 coats to ensure it’s easy to remove when the time comes.
