I know nothing about a coolant filter for the Ram trucks. If it makes you have a better day I can maybe install an oil filter inline.
One word "Google" use it ;) The amount of time you've spent typing and whining about the issue,would of found a dozen video's on the issue,along with fixes.
Don't try and claim you didn't see that thread ,it ain't working :cheers:

Okay...someone somewhere peed in your oatmeal today. But I know you'll man up and get over it. Ram still will be a pos anyway tho. And I've owned a few of their products over the last 40 years too.

One thing I'll do if I can do no better. Is make do and do what needs to be done to keep riding. But that doesn't mean I'm just whining. I'm just stating facts. Ram screwed up and I'll deal with it till I don't need the thing anylonger. And I won't be buying another one to fool with. I do have a antique Chevy truck that is about 48 years old. Never a heat problem. Ran great for 48 years. I've gotten excellent service out of many vehicles. There is no excuse for Stellantis, or whatever they call themselves now. Eventually I scrap scrap heaps tho.lol

I replaced core and any decent engineered truck would be okay.But since you think I'm whining...you let the door hit you in the as...a-hole. Forum would be better off without a bully punk like you.

So ive had my ‘16 power wagon 8 years now and have 125k miles on it. Still has the original coolant. The heat has always been hotter than hell, never had an issue. Am i safe to assume i probably wont have to worry about this issue? I have been planning on getting all the fluid flushed out and replaced, but now i am worried about opening up a can of worms when it has been issue free up to this point.

Don't dare do anything to open up a can of worms. Because that will make you a whiner and certain ones here will get their panties in a bunch. And try to kick you off the forum. I was referring to anothers post telling them my trucks experience,about the clogged core issue that is a big issue with the trucks, till a busybody showed up having a pms fit. Good luck!

If your heater core is still giving good heat,just do a drain and refill.

Thats kinda what i was thinking. However with 125k miles and 8+ years on the fluid i was hoping to do a full flush. Just dont want to cause myself possible issues!

If it worries you,you could do 2 drain and fills,but 1 drain and fill should give you back enough additives to keep the cooling system happy.Throw a bottle of RMI in it,run it for 500 to a 1,000 miles first,and see how much crap it puts in your overfull tank,then do a drain and fill

This is another one of those very bizarre things. As I go through this forum, I've seen several cases or discussions on this topic. The underlying theme seems to be there. Some concern in the casting of the block. I guess, I don't know? Though is that if this is in fact the case then why is it not happening to every truck?
Additionally, it seems this is an issue with both the 5.7 hemi and the 6.4 hemi, but I don't know if that's true?
Yeah I've only had my current 2016 2500 for a few weeks now and had I have done a little more research before buying this. I probably wouldn't have. That said, I think any vehicle. If you do enough research on via web forums, you would never buy said vehicle.
I don't know though. Maybe there are some that are definitely less problematic overall. Though I may be completely fine with the one I have or it could be a complete **** I don't know yet.
I have had 3 Rams with the 5.7 and never had a problem with any of them, so you may be good as well, I have not had one with the 6.4 motor , so can't comment on those.

I have the samebissues on my 5.7 1500. It's hot on the passenger side and cold on driver side. I flushed it with the rad flush both ways and some debris flowed out in the bucket. My next go will be with CRL and use a drill pump to agitate the flow both ways. The first go made a bit of difference, but this year's Canadian winter is very cold.

Sometimes that will fix it for a while, but often it may come back. Just be prepared that depending on how far gone it really is, you may need to replace the core. I flushed mine 4-5 times, the last with CLR. It did seem to help but for me it only helped for a week or two.

It sucks to have to replace it (just did it) but it really isn't the end of the world. In comparison to today's truck values it's a relatively inexpensive repair. IF you get it replaced down the road, just make sure to do a good coolant flush and fill at the same time.

I hear ya .. These trucks are not even close to being affordable like 12 years ago. Just best to keep my old 4th gen clean and happy and run it for another 10 .

country boy process right there, living just enough just enough for the country.

I didn't even read about the filter and everyone's thoughts on that, but I don't like the idea of a filter, too many things can happen that ends badly. Some filters are good, as we know some are just a bad idea.
