There's a good chance you can disassemble the microswitch, clean and put back together. Worth a shot before ordering parts. If you get it apart, let us know what the process is. I may need to do that sometime too.

I will be interested to hear how hard or easy it is to service. I have never had much luck getting clapped out switches to work again.

I talk to dealer ship techs today and they said it non fixable have to change whole arm

I ran a scanner on my truck and I got the code of you 1449, so is there any suggestion? Do you have know of what I could check out

That code does not match what Google wants to bring up

B1449 Wiper Park Sense Circuit Short To Ground

C1449 Traction Control Motor Coherency Fault

P1449 Evaporative Check Solenoid Circuit Malfunction

U1449 is what i could not find & it would be a Communication Code

8-speeds have GEAR+ and GEAR- buttons on the steering wheel. But the 6-speeds (like the OP) have a toggle switch on the shift lever. It is fairly common for that switch to fail, and yes, the fix is to replace the shift lever. Could also be a wiring problem in the column, but most likely a bad switch.

So, how did you make out getting a replacement shifter arm at the wreckers and did the new part solve your issue?

I haven’t got a shifter arm yet, but I’m going to check a few other things because it came up with a code u1449
