Here's a before and after crappy pic but I changed my TB at 5k miles so I don't think it was to nasty....

And I don't have the pic anymore but if you search proof that catch can works you will see my thread with pics of my catch can almost half full

This is a good start, I'd like to see pics starting at 5,000 miles and so on in even intervals if possible so other members can see how bad it gets

Sorry for the stupid question, I'm new to the hemi, but what is the purpose of the catch can?

I don't have a catch can but recently checked my TB at 87K miles. It was very clean. That doesn't seem to be the norm, though.

Definitely not the norm. Did you happen to take a pic?

If im not mistaken when you have a tune on your truck your tb gets more of the dirty oil stuck on it.

I've read this numerous times as well. I have wondered why that is the case. I wonder if the CAIs play more of a part than the actual tuners themselves?

on the website it only shows "Throttle Body on the Left did not have a catch can, Throttle Body on the Right had a Catch Can .

The back of the TB is where the oil builds up because that is where the PCV hose enters the manifold. I have swapped throttle bodies for a few locals that were so bad you could barely see any metal on the blade. The reason guys with tuners typically produce more oil is because they are running their trucks harder. The harder you drive the truck, the more pressure you will build up, and the more oil you will collect in the catch can.

Nope... I checked it when I changed my plugs a while back. I was lying across the engine so I was right there......... I figured what the hell?? LOLOL

It was surprisingly clean.......
