Looks like there is three labeled leads there. Is the third required?

The OEM 3rd brake camera uses Pin 26 for a shield. The Front Cameras don’t use that

I have used Alpine cameras in the past and love them. I'm in the same boat. I want 360 view, with individual camera views, turn signal activates that side camera, and the cargo cam

I've toyed with this for a year and it is hard to dig thru all the crap just to get the simple answers. Biggest issue is how to get the camera signal into the radio display. Looks like a couple good replies I'll have to look into

AlfaOBD seems like more and more reasons to breakdown and buy this. How hard is it to learn and not mess up the truck?? I tried reading the HUGE thread on it but it just makes life worse. Need a readers digest version with all the stupid boiled out of it

Look at Big Daddy's thread and YouTube channel. He walks you through some of the AlphaOBD configs and makes it look easy.

Make sure to heed the advice of uploading your default configuration to your Google drive before making any changes. This can reference this if you have problems.

Good luck!

Ok guys, I bought the Nakita WD-011 from Amazon and mounted it under my license plate bracket by drilling one small hole underneath for the cameras mounting stud. I didn’t want to drill into my grille or anything else permanent and this seemed like a good place that’s not even noticeable. The RCA pigtail from @Mpgrimm2 worked great with no issues. The camera viewing angle is good, I can see my white airdam on each side. The clarity during the day is good but kinda grainy at night.

The Alfaobd settings are below

VehConfig 1 - CHMSL Camera
"Yes"

CBC Features - LED CHMSL Lamp Present
"Yes"

Disclaimer:

2nd /Cargo Cam input in addition to Backup Cam ... is only available on 16+ 8.4 radios. (After recent FCA SW updates).

Thanks, I bought this camera and the coolint flush mounted version to mount in ram head but decided on this location. I kinda like the view looking outward versus downward. The camera itself is very heavy and the housing is metal.

You did an awesome job. Im wanting to add a front camera too. So to confirm, it must be wired correctly like you did and also be turned on through alphaodb as well? So much info about this stuff

Thanks.

It wasn’t difficult at all. The camera plugs into the included harness. The harness has an rca male on one end and T’s off with black/red for power/ground. All I ran into cab was the male rca which plugs into that harness from Mpgrimm2, then made the settings and boom I got a front camera. I already had AlfaOBD so my total investment on this was approx $70.

Just an FYI ....
This only works on 16+ 8.4 radios after the last FCA update (enabling the cargo cam input in conjunction with bu cam).

If you have a 13-15 8.4 radio, you need to get a camera interface/add-on module from PAC, Crux, Nav-Tv, LockPick, or Customtronix.

M² Mods.
