It's been repeated 100 times in this thread. But, all the wiring is the same. If your truck didn't come with power folding mirrors you need the door modules and the switch, AND you need to have the BCM programmed for that option. The last part is the hard part.

Hello can you help me validate if my truck has the power fold wiring for standard mirrors? I followed the link to the wiring diagrams but it's not available anymore.

Jeepguy passed away awhile back. Pay attention to 00R/T and Ricks_Ram's posts. As mentioned the issue currently is getting it properly enabled in the BCM.

I'm aware of the BCM challenge.
Seems obd Genie will have a solution coming soon. They already have some modules finished. https://www.obdgenie.com/pages/coming-soon
My remaining question is will the donor 2014 truck parts (mirrors, modules and switch) be compatible in my 2017 truck?

Thank you

IM going to attempt to do this on my truck. It has been done before so I am going to try to do it.

So I seen those modules that you bought.
But I called a dealer on monday with a VIN off a 14 Ram R/T and they gave me these numbers for the modules,
Module Left: 68225103AC
Module Right: 68225102AC

any idea what these are for?

Thanks

Standard power fold mirrors plug into these modules in your doors.

Did anyone else buy this? pretty pricey but if it works. I wonder if it is programmed to only work once or if we can share it?

Interested as well. My dealer wants $135 to flash LER into my 2013 Mega.

I had power folding tow mirrors on my 2014 1500, swapped the mirrors, door modules, and door/armrest buttons, all I need is the right sales codes flashed in...hard to stomach paying $135 for just that.

Adding to the thread.

I have successfully upgraded my 2011 and got the power folding mirrors to work. From what I can tell the 09-12 door modules never had the capability to use the feature. They are missing the pins in the connector. What I ended up using were modules from a Grand Cherokee, mirrors from a 2014 Laramie and a 2013-15 style window switch. Additionally I had to send my TIPM away from reprogramming. No new options show up on the EVIC but the mirrors will fold/unfold with key on. If anyone is interested I can post P/N's for the modules I used.

The backlighting color in the new switch was blue. I was able to swap the PCB from my current switch and retain my green backlighting. The old switch has the internal contact and software logic but the button is nonoperable.

This is a list of the parts we switch, in case you need to compare with yours. Again, beware that these might be different for your vehicle but this is just for reference.

Special thanks to everyone above. I used 1aauto power fold tow mirrors from 2015...

my 2011 ram has now factory power fold mirrors, i used a program called alfaodb to program my car and installed. wala power fold mirrors.... however i had auto down and up on the front windows. after install only auto down works.

took apart my OEM driver door module, found that i was receiving the voltage for power fold on the terminals however no terminals were installed. removed terminals from the one i just bought for driver side ( acctually removed 4, and installed in my OEM door modules.

my driver door went in. and worked my passenger didnt ( power fold ) but both mirrors had auto up and down.

reinstalled the new passenger door module ( the one pn above ) and both power folding mirrors and auto up and down is 100% functional !!!!!!!

so now i have one of the ONLY 2011 ram 1500s with power folding mirror from factory

working on getting the tow mirror sales code installed in the program i use ( alfaodb. ) so that when they are flipped they adj in the correct direction

i will later make a thread detailing what was done

Hello all,
I also have added power folding tow mirrors to my 2011 Ram 3500 SLT. There are lots of useful information on this web site, i would recommend searching.

Everything was plug and play, used Alfaodb to "set" power fold option. Used a door switch out of a 2013 Ram and switched the cover, as i wanted to keep it with green back lite switches not blue. The 2013 switches have the trigger button for the power fold.

It was a fun little mod to do, took a couple hours. Most time was putting the switch back together. Need #9 torx bit for the screws on the back of the switch.

Modules:

Mirrors i picked up from Boost. They can modify them with a few extra features. Different light options, dual heat ect. Big bonus is that if this did not work there is a connector that can be used as a trigger for the fold option.

Send me a PM if you have any questions..
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum..

Kevin.
