OK so I got thinking that it's rare that folks come into a forum and discuss the highlights and praises they have for their rigs. Mostly these sites are used to address issues or complain, and it got me thinking that we needed a thread that does the opposite. I'm suggesting a thread just for this and I'd ask that folks mention their YR/Model and drive train and miles then add praise as you see appropriate ;)
So, I'll start out, 2016 RAM 2500 OutdoorsMan with the 6.4l. Currently has 56k miles and I've only added about 500 of them so too soon to say much but so far so good. Bought it to replace my '20 Rebel 1500 EDiesel that was too light to deal with my 30' toyhauler even though I really liked the truck. Anyhow, hoping to get at least 40k more on this before I have any significant issues to deal with.

2015 ram 1500 with 6.4l tows my 12.5k trailer no problem, lots of power. 8 speed trans is great. They're great trucks once you get the qwerks worked out of them. Now mines all straightened out I will never sell or trade it.

As I read this over and over I feel that my brain is being manipulated.

Go thrash hard on your 5.7 , and create the need to drop a new 6.4 and 8speed into it .

Now I’ve put it in print it causes apprehension .

Maybe one thing at a time will be easier on the pocket ?

Then you gotta do some things twice , damn . I have already made enough unnecessary work for myself with just one of these swaps.it would be fooolish to repeat things.

I wonder what the wife will say when the parts start arriving ? There is nothing wrong with your truck . You just put that new 6.4 intake with all new accessories on it. You still have things in the closet that need installed.

You love that truck more then you love me !
Now you know that is not true.
Find some earrings you like and we’ll get them.

See dear, that intake can be swapped to the new 6.4,
along with the rest of it.

After all the swaps you will need to change the gears back to 3.55 from the current 4.56 version.

This is what goes on in my head after meds , I try not to post afterwards.

My praises for Ram is they did a great job reinventing the coil back suspension that in my opinion transformed what it is to own a 150/1500 series pickup. They did finally give this to the 2500's as well? I am a large man with a bad back and aging not so gracefully, and I appreciate the hell out of the comfortable ride both suspension and large bench seat, kudos.

I also appreciate them holding the hemi line when other trucks were going to that di turbo shiet. And generally speaking they avoided some of the traps and eco bullshiet Ford and Chevy went down, yes I am not a fan of MDS, but I'm more a fan of MDS then I am di turbo's.

I have been a Ford guy forever, and I made the mistake of test driving the ram when it came time to buy a truck, lol. Night and day difference ram takes it, the same year Ford was like driving a dump truck in comparison, and then lets talk about price, well below the other manu's at the time 4x4 hemi slt for 24k.

My praises is when compared to the field there are some 4 gens that is you ask me can make an argument for the best pickups ever made along with some of the 90's Ford's with the 351's in them. When you consider everything such as comfort and longevity and lack of stupid tech, these 4 gens are not without flaws but everything considered are a top choice. The best news is how long the 2500 plus years held on to these great features as well. I prefer the HO Cummins with love for the 12 valve years way back, the 351 Ford's, and these 5.7/6.4 4 gen hemis hemi's.

They did the Mopar name proud in a lot of ways, but if they don't want lose that good name they got some work to do on new trucks.

This positiveness thing is hard, next thing we will be asked to be all polite too?

2021 2500 6.4 with 25,000. The truck has been great! I've had issues but they've all been self-inflicted :banghead:
Current lessons learned: Keep the chainsaw away from your tires and don't back a log splitter up a hill with the tailgate down

2 - 2500's, both Cummins, Mega, Rambox. An 18 Laramie and a 22 Ltd Longhorn. Both great trucks with very few issues. The things I like the best about them are the motor/tranny, Megacab and Ramboxes. Those are also the reasons I went Ram. I've owned 3/4 ton's from GM and Ford also.

I also like that my local dealer has been great, even though I did not buy the trucks from them. Quick to get in, do what they say they're going to do and they get it right the first time.

This should really be pinned so folks can see this first when researching new truck purchases

2012 Ram 2500 CTD - fantastic truck. No issues when I sold it to upgrade to a 3500. The only wrench turning I ever did was voluntary. Bought with 50k miles. Sold it with over 100k miles.
2016 Ram 3500 CTD - even better than the first. Zero issues the entire time I owned it, minus the emissions system. That's on par with ALL diesels though, so I count it towards cost of ownership. I miss that truck every day. Bought it with 98k miles and sold it somewhere around the 130-140k mile mark.
2018 Ram 1500 Hemi - Bought with 75k miles. Drove like a new truck. Zero issues aside from a failing radio screen (common on the 2018 model) which the dealer replaced. Truck never had an issue when I sold it at 90k miles to go back to a CTD.
2018 Ram 2500 CTD (current truck) - Currently has 128k miles. Absolutely love it. It did need a heater core replacement and had an emissions issue but both were common and quickly fixed. Truck still runs/drives/looks brand new.

I've also owned (with the same engines offered in the Ram):

2019 Charger R/T Hemi - loved the car and the ZF transmission. Went like a rocket. Never saw a shop for repairs.
2014 Durango Limited (3.6L) - fantastic ride. Never one problem.
2015 Wrangler Rubicon Hard Rock (3.6L) - never one problem.

2018 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi. Fantastic truck. Bought her brand new with 8 miles on the clock. Sold her today with 64K on the clock. Never left me stranded, never had ANY issues. I did all the maintenance and that is all she ever required. I am truly going to miss that truck.

Both my trucks are 5.7Ls.

2005 SLT--bought new, still have it. ~175k miles. Except for replacing common wear items, no trouble whatsoever.

2018 Sport--bought used (lease return) with 22k miles. Currently has ~45k miles. No problems at all.
