Has anyone had any luck buying a premium cluster new? Dealer doesn't seem to want to order me one that my truck didn't come with. I don't understand why they don't want my money? When I added the RVC, they had no problem adding that to my VIN. Add the code for the cluster, down my truck, and order me a cluster. Doesn't seem that hard. Anyone had any luck with these? Been watching car-part and ebay, but diesel clusters are a little tougher to come by it seems.

Got a premium cluster that was listed as 3.5"....you can decode the donor truck vin #s to see what they actually were equipped with, which i did....only paid $110 for it

Where are you decoding the VIN's? I did a quick google at lunch today, and played around with decoding my VIN on a couple different sites, and all were completely inaccurate. None of the 3 I tried even listed my truck as a diesel.

Also called a different dealer that was willing to order me a cluster. But, it was $7xx + a $7xx core charge. I don't quite want it that bad!

It is one thing to like order OEM wheels that your truck did not originally come with and another thing when it comes to clusters and what makes dealerships a little squirmy in this regard.

Dealerships are bound by Federal law to either replace a cluster with exact mileage or install a cluster with zero miles and affix a label stating when cluster was replaced and original miles. Ordering a cluster that is not what the truck came with from the factory and is not for a repair replacement, takes them out of their comfort zone with the inference of possible mileage tampering is there whether true or not.
