I think it's just coolant that's been flinging out for along time without notice and making trails that look like oil.

Well I cleaned off all the oily stuff. So I will see if it comes back.

Other than that. No leaks from the new water pump, or any hoses. Bled the cooling system, and she is idling nice. As soon as it cracks 203 degrees, tstat opens up. And she drops and stays at about 195.

All in all. I feel pretty accomplished today... and so should everyone else. Because yall helped me through this every step.

So again. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR HELP. yall have been awesome.

Oh hahahah. One thing that I didnt like, was how the idler pulley made assumptions about my sexuality

On the back side of the idler pulley. It literally just said... ***. HAHAHAH

**** cracked me up

I have always just used a big crescent wrench on thefan/water pump pully and hit the crescent wrench with a hammer a few times and it comes loose. Never had any luck with the breaker bar on the tensioner.

Is there a spray pattern on the hood blanket? If so water pump. Usually when they go they go... you are gonna lose all your coolant in minutes.... it’s not a drip drip, it’s a gush gush... common on 2011-2014 hemi’s to lose a pump in the first 50k miles....

Not driven it yet today. But I did take it out last night for a good hour drive. Coolant temps were great. I will go out and check to see if there are any leaks. But i didnt see any last night after the drive. So fingers crossed!

There wasnt anything on the hood blanket. But it went that's for sure. Coolant all over the driver.

Not to mention, when I actually got the old pump off. I could move the pulley up and down, as well as in and out a good few millimeters it was ****** lol.

I will consider myself lucky on the mileage then. I just ticked over 165,000 miles :). And this is the first fairly major part which has needed replacing!

I see you have the v6 mod fan....if your mechanical fan is removed .....it would greatly improve water pump life.

I do but I didn't do that until around 50K...

So there is some truth in that? I've read that it prolongs the waterpump bearings and that the Challengers/Chargers/300s don't have water pump failures like the Rams do...

Same logic.........torque multiplier of the diameter of the fan(don't recall actual size).....say the fan is 14 inches in diameter......think of how much more force you can apply to bolt with a 7-inch pull bar vrs your hand only.

Also fans could be larger on trucks vrs cars or clutch itself pulls harder......not sure.

Good job lee.
Thanks Burla.

Went out to check the truck. Bone dry on the ground underneath.

Reservoir was pretty empty, and there might still be a bit of air in the system. But I did kinda rush it last night. So will just give it another bleed to be sure.
