Pretty catastrophic leaking

You'll probly be topping up. For a couple days. I know I was when I did my cam. 3 days I kept an eye on it topping it up 4-5ml at a time. It's great now tho.

Same logic.........torque multiplier of the diameter of the fan(don't recall actual size).....say the fan is 14 inches in diameter......think of how much more force you can apply to bolt with a 7-inch pull bar vrs your hand only.

Also fans could be larger on trucks vrs cars or clutch itself pulls harder......not sure.

Makes sense. That fan/clutch assembly is heavy for what it is....

Get some Redline Water Wetter and add it before you completely too it off. The stuff works to keep your engine a little cooler! I’ve used it on several vehicles now with lots of good luck with it.

I've been debating on trying RL water wetter or Amsoil Coolant boost. So water wetter does actually work?

Yes. Stay away from the Royal Purple stuff though. It does not do anything

Yeah I know what you mean. Atleast it's an easy ish fix. I'd also order another thermostat with gasket too so while ur in there you don't have to worry about having to lose all your coolant again because the t stat started leaking. I hate doin stuff twice lol. Atleast it's a cheap fix. I had cam and lifter failure last month. [emoji849] That was an I'm gonna burn you to the ground moment hahaha. I went lumpy cam and am happy again.

Do you mind me asking how much that repair cost you? And did you do it yourself, or take it somewhere?

It cost me around 2g for everything. Cam non mds lifters, head bolts and gaskets, coolant and cam phaser limiter. That's not the whole list but you get the idea. That's Canadian $$ too so probly cheaper for you. Even with shipping I paid less online, I don't support local up here because I want the right part the first time not the third time.

Brandon, are you mixing up posts by any chance?? All he replaced was his water pump, thermostat, and hoses, and then did a coolant flush. I’m thinking $150-$200 would be the most it would have cost him other than some broken knuckles, cuts, and frustration. Lol

Oh, he also replaced his serpentine belt and tensioner or idler pulley.

Holy **** I'm a *******! This whole time I thought the zerox stuff was pre diluted. I've been running 100% coolant in my truck for almost 2 years hahaha... Well I guess it didn't bother her too much hahahaha

You could always drain half the radiator pour and pour in some distilled water

Yeah I'm gonna top it off with distilled. To be honest. It doesn't look like it affected anything badly. Might have even help a bit in this TX heat

In the heat it’s a little better than with water added. If you put in a higher pressure radiator cap it will also help keep the engine from over heating as well.

No that's not right. Pure water cools better than any amount of glycol but if course water doesn't have the rust inhibitors or lubricant properties in relation to the pump. So even in cold climates you do not want to exceed the 50/50 ratio to protect from freezing as it reduces the ability of the cooling system to function at peak capacity.

I couldn’t remember which it was but I knew water and more pressure helped with keeping the temperature cooler. Sorry. It has been 27 years since my last physics class. Lol
