I believe the one way stator bearing in my converter has failed. I've been looking for converters and found that oreilleys carries pro king brand converters for my 46 re. Has anyone used them? I just don't have the money for a billet triple disc yet, Not that the ole gas burner needs that serious of a converter. I need an oem style converter to get me by for a few months.

Pro King appears to be ATC, which has been in the game for some time making run of the mill oem style replacement parts. (not PATC)
Might not be a bad option to drop one in while you send yours out to be rebuilt by a reputable company.

No need for a billet triple threat TC in a 46RE that isn't looking to eat about 600hp. Money would be better spend on just a high quality mild performance converter.

I'm not looking for a higher stall. I do quite a bit of low speed driving where I am. I only had it tuned to mitigate the effects of the death flash and its torque management. Before the tune it didn't have the power to maintain highway speed in od on some of the hills around here. I just didn't want to buy a converter that might let me down. I use to have comverters rebuilt by a specialist company years ago. I don't live in that area anymore and my ole dodge is my only vehicle. So before I pull the trigger on anything, I'm looking for reviews

oh yeah, if it's your only ride, it's 100% buy once cry once lol. I would suggest trying to find an OEM dodge unit new old stock if you can hunt one down, and as a second option someone reputable like PATC.

There is a tube channel called "performance transmission" they are based in texas, but they might be able to point you to someone super reputable and high quality for a converter.

I totally understand getting rid of death flash, I did not authorize it on my truck and they did it anyways... went from cooking tires to cooking pistons in 30 minutes flat.

If Performance Transmission gives your a reputable source for a converter, please share there are more than a few of us who want a stock-ish stall converter that will take a hit.

I know a reputatible converter shop. Now is just not the time. The pro-king can be aquired in a few days and has a single dad friendly price. i just need it to last till tax time. Then I will have better options. If I had my way I'd convert it to 3 pedals row your own gears. Manual trans trucks are getting very rare.
