Anyone that has a Gen5 Ram on order, SHAP is suspended for now and orders will be delayed:

I'm guessing this will probably filter through all the assembly plants here in Michigan, so even Ford and GM will probably be shuttered also.

Canada your getting doubled up on, the US/Canadian boarder is being restricted. I'm guessing new vehicle delivery won't be included in the exemption.

that didn't take long, the Big 3 would rather control the shut down rather than not knowing if workers will walk out. The workers do have a valid point about working side by side.

..one upside to this for anyone in the Metro Detroit area, there won't be much traffic on the roads and fuel prices will drop.

Wow! I truly feel sorry for anyone who has a 1500 truck on order. Who knows how long this shutdown will last. Let's hope it all gets "fixed" soon. This is the start of some big companies shutting down until this blows over. Sad times.

Yeah I wouldn't expect to get a "2020" model produced anytime this year.

even if the plants fire back up at the end of March, then still need all the part suppliers to get back to work, the ones from overseas may not be back by then. Lack of parts will grind the plants to a halt.
Depending on how things unfold, this will probably turn into a month delay

Oh if they are waiting on China parts, its easily 30 days....
Its 2-3 weeks sail, then stuff coming into the port is delayed, inspections, rail to manufacture, etc...so 60-120 possibly on certain parts, if they are indeed out.
So finding one on the lot, you can probably get a smoking deal.

The last thing the auto makers want is to produce vehicles and have them sitting out on parking lots across the country when people realize how bad the economy is going to get and wisely decide not to buy a new car or truck. It will be two to ten years for the country to recover depending upon who is in the White House and Congress in 2021.

I was planning to buy a new 2020 Ram but now I will not be considering a new vehicle until next year at the earliest.

It will be a good time to buy a used low mileage truck as people lose their jobs and can't make their payments to the banks and are forced to sell.

And here I thought the purchase of a new RAM was considered "Essential".

Really bummed here in NY,
Ordered my Ram Laramie sport on 3/6, can never find exactly what I want in a dealer lot!
Went to D1 status on 3/14 with an estimated shipping date of 3/26!
Plant closed on 3/18, just my luck mine was probably next to go down the line!
I know with everything going on right now in the world it’s pretty petty to be bummed about a truck and my present truck is a 2016 Ram limited so I am not in need I just trade every three years, but just gave me something to look forward too! And would have kept me busy outfitting it with all the stuff I like to do to them!
Oh well I will just have to wait it out!

Well, doing my part for the re-boot of the economy this morning by signing papers for my 3500 that I ordered in Jan. It came in last week and is getting its utility body installed next week, fingers crossed

Congratulations! My 2500, ordered last November, finally arrived at my local dealer on Sunday. But now they're closed due to state-wide shutdowns. Only their service department is deemed "essential". Who knows how much longer I'll need to wait.

My dealer is closed too, but they are allowing the fleet manager to meet with customers whose trucks are already been ordered so they can take delivery. At least thats what he said 2 days ago... ;)
