i have a reoccurring issue. I use a smarty tuner and months ago I had the truck set on #6 and reverted to stock due to a shop working on it, installing newer injectors, after I got it back I set it on #6 and stomped on it, it went great. a few months later I noticed the engine was surging after 45mph it felt like the tranny was shifting out of passing gear, I reprogrammed it to #7 and the surging stopped for months. now the surging is back so I reprogrammed for #5 the surging went away. so Im thinking the computer is getting corrupted somehow and gets fixed when I reprogram. what do you think?

Or you're resetting the pcm and hiding an issue that exists and takes awhile for the pcm to pick it up
