Finally got the carpet, headliner, and rear panel out. Prepping for the Spectrum. I'll spray heavy in these areas. There will be a pretty intense subwoofer, high end stereo going back in. Also managed to get a fresh coat on the hitch.20200716_170232.jpg

I got the 1st coat of Spectrum applied last night. I'll apply 3 more coats to achieve the 4 mil. thickness I want. It's been an easy product to work with, as it's water based.20200719_183256.jpg

This is after the 4th and final coat. Also got the brake booster/master cylinder back in. Flushed the lines, bled brakes, and replaced with fresh fluid. I think I'll tackle the front shocks and all bushings up front next. I'll clean and paint everything in that zone along with the coil springs. Should look good.20200720_130424.jpg

Awesome work! Amazing that you've owned that truck for almost half your life. I'd do what I could to keep it too! She's so clean aside from the standard 90's Ram issues like you say. You rarely see a Ram of that vintage in the rust belt I live in.

You've got great skills. I'm not sure I'd know where to begin!

Thanks PoMansRam. My buddy has been a really big help. Without his shop space, it would be a lot more difficult. We both work full time, so it's been an after 5 and on weekends project. The weather here also has been around 95 with heat index over 100. Along with 100% humidity it's been pretty brutal! Everybody needs to buy stock in Amazon, O'Reillys, Coors and Budweiser! Believe me all 4 are taking my money!

Truth! We've had more close to 90F days in the Buffalo NY area than I can recall.

Lots of hydration and mail-order required. LOL

Same here to the north man. 90’F seems to be the norm, and 100’F plenty, makes working hard.

Didn't get a lot accomplished on the truck this weekend. I had to help my buddy pull the motor out of his boat to replace some gaskets. I did manage to clean the Magnum Performance throttle body and Poweraid spacer. Went with a Wix filter this time. I think this company has been out of business for a while, but I did purchase the Throttle Body and the V10 Computer. There is a noticeable difference in throttle response and power with those two combined. It has always been tough to find any aftermarket performance products for the V10.20200726_142028.jpg

We finally removed the old Rancho Suspension setup from the frontend. Sandblasted the Powder coated parts. Let me tell you that was a major Pain in the Original Setup (1).jpg Parts Drying (1).jpg New Setup (1).jpg a.. removing the powder coat. Passenger side is finished and I'm working on the Drivers side today. I think the Matte Hammered Grey looks pretty good. The truck will be Jeep Sting Grey when finished, so the parts should contrast pretty well.

This part of the project is a little slow and tedious. Driver's side suspension is complete, and Dana 60 is drained and filled with Royal Purple. New sway bar bushings and links installed. Stripped the doors and sanding on the cab is in progress while the weather has been good. Should have the cab primed by this weekend.rsz_1drivers_suspension.jpg rsz_stripped_doors.jpg rsz_prepping_for_primer.jpg

This weekend I was able to get any small dings and dents repaired. Prepped and taped everything, and sprayed the Epoxy Primer...Primer Back.jpg Primer Side.jpg

Well I thought we might repair the upper door hinges on both sides with new hinge pins, but it looks like the whole assembly needs replacing. They were really rusted and locked up. Another order to LMC... I also just received a 2017-2019 center console I ordered. I always hated the cup holder situation, so I'm going to fabricate this one into the truck. I'll end up building a custom rocker switch panel in the original location.56-5560.JPG rsz_20210318_160710.jpg s-l1600.jpg

Working on the bed at this point. Grinding and scraping the old bedliner out. Sanding the exterior down because Dodge primer in this year was terrible. Should have everything primed by next week if the weather acts right.rsz_truck_bed.jpg

Fenders and Hood bolted in and adjusting for proper fitment and lines. Both doors have all new hinge hardware, and finally shut and seal properly. That was a beast getting them in! Finished up with the front and rear bumpers and tailgate. Grinded and prepped for Primer.Hood and Fender Fitment.jpgTailgate Prep.jpgSanded Bumper.jpg

Bumpers and Tailgate Primed. This should be the week that all the large parts of the truck are Raptor Lined in Sting Grey.Primed Parts.jpg
