Silly I know but I am calling it Project Lowverland. Idea is building as low center of gravity as possible for lowest cost and best return on value. Lift will only be 2-4 inches when I get to it. It’s running 34s right now and will top out at 35s when the time comes. Has 3.21 gears so stuck there. So far it’s just fine with the 34s.

Frankly, a real Overland vehicle would be a 2500 with the Power Wagon pack but this time around this will have to do. I have a son turning 14 so this might be his run in 4 years when he heads off into the world.

So here goes. These are from Front Runner. About $400 total. Will be mounting the tent from the last picture when it arrives Monday. RamBoxes are fully functional when the tent is stored. One side will remain functional when the tent is deployed. Lift, lights, bumpers to follow.

Looking awesome! I’ve been looking for these that fit with the ramboxes. Do you have a link to these, I can’t find them on front runner website.

You cannot find them on their site as a Ram thing. Took some research and back and forth over email to get this all sussed out. Here is a part list for what you want to order. Just ask them for a quote and they will set you up.

Btw the third item in the list is KEY. Don’t use the rail hardware nuts/bolts from the boxes/bags that have the legs. These flat bars slide in instead and distribute the load properly. You still use the hex bolts for the slats tho.

I’ll put some pics up of this open in the daylight. Just got done after an already long day. Originally ordered a 3 person but they messed up and had it on back order. So I agreed to a 2 person extended. It is pretty great but I will be replacing it with a 3 person in the future for just a bit more room for me and wifey. More pics to come!

oh, and the RamBoxes are fully functional even with the tent deployed.

AEV 4” lift ordered last week.

Tent doesn’t add any wind noise since it rides below the roofline. Ran 60-75 on highways on the way to my hunt site.

Add “low noise” to the list.

Very cool set up man.

Any luck on an elk?

Well, if you mean putting together a good scout and getting drawn, getting time off, and choosing good equipment, then absolutely. But, alas, opening morning I fired the Coleman stove at 3 am for coffee ready to throw on my pack at 3:30 and hike into my chosen spot about 1/2 mile away. That’s when I saw a head lamp. That guy killed a cow that morning and someone else killed another the next day. He was the only other foot hunter I saw and he had pals on UTVs. Spent several more days competing with quad and side by side hunters. Got some water hole time which is good when you beat someone else there, especially when YOUR quads are just muscles above your knees. I am officially either giving up and joining the UTV crowd or just spending the same money on a guide instead. Any way I do it, I’m only putting in for the low tag count hunts after this. Way too many hunters out there this year. Enjoyed the country and the tent is excellent. Ready for many fishing trips next summer and two deer hunts in December and January.

A little safety addition to the rack setup since the third brake light isn’t visible now.
