The driver side puddle light went out on my 2016 Ram 2500. The OE puddle lights seemed dim to me, so I ordered the below replacement set on eBay, that were reported to be brighter than OE. The wiring for the replacement lights were different than the OE lights. The OE lights had a small plug connection, while the eBay lights had wire leads with male blade contacts. I was able to retrofit the lights regardless and wired up the passenger side light without much difficulty. It was indeed much brighter than the OE puddle light.
The driver side light was a different story. It did not want to release from the mirror arm. I had to literally break the light apart to remove it. After that, I was unable to get the replacement light to seat properly. It would not snap/lock into place. I worked with it for over an hour before giving up.
Thinking the driver side eBay light may be defective, I returned it and ordered another replacement. I had the same issue with the replacement light. I’m now thinking I may have somehow damaged the puddle light housing while breaking apart the OE light. Not sure what to do at this point. Any suggestions?
