Only thing wrong with my 11 dodge is the emergency brake. I have never used it and that's why it doesnt work. My friend is telling me i will need axle seals and gear oil because i have to pull the axles to put the shoes on??? And dropping the rear end cover?? Would my cables be alight if i never used them? There is 70,000 miles on the truck. I know i'll need the hardware kit but pulling the axles??

If they are the same mechanism as the third gen, then the only thing holding the shoes on is the hardware. Pulling axels? Never heard that one. Take off wheel obviously and rotors, the ebrake is inside the rotors, they are a two function rotor setup. Drum brake in the center for ebrake and disc on the outside.

You don't need to pull the axles. It's a pain in the ass, but can be done. Kind of hard to access the retaining springs, but there was a pretty good vid on YouTube from 1A Auto I think on a 3rd Gen. Did my '11 last year and did swear a lot!
