Just bought a 2016 Ram 1500 Sport .........

https://www.southwestchrysler.com/i...seats-wheel-20-inch-wheels-4wd-crew-cab-picku

This ran in at $26,500 USD.

It's immaculate. Can you guys suggest either a 2'' lift or 2'' level ( I was thinking the latter).

Can the exhaust tips be plasti dipped sprayed for about $10 ? Flowmaster wants $350 here for black tips.

Any other suggestions guys? Keeping it real, no super charge or tuning.

Thanks, and I'm happy to finally be back to a Ram!!! not since 96' 2500 Diesel

Congrats on the new sport ! Many use the Bilstein 5100 shocks and do a level. I have no idea if the exhaust tips get too warm for Plasti dipped.

Rough Country makes a 2" leveling kit that is popular around here. 2" in the front 1" in the back to maintain the rake

I wouldnt plasti dip the tips you can use high temp paint or take them off and have them powder coated most places wont charge you more than like $40 to have it done.

If you really want a quality level you can check out thuren tuned king coilovers but they arent cheap but well worth it for ride quality. I have a set on all 4 corners rides like a caddy on the road and can really handle speed offroad.

I never have but my honest opinion is no. I wouldn't think it would durable enough, and prepping the rim would be a PIA. Prepping tips was simple, i just used brake clean and rags, didnt bother to scuff or sand like you do when painting. I know people here have done rims, hopefully they chime in for you on that one.

I have done rims with plasti dip. Cleaned them real good and placed 3x5 cards all the way around to block overspray. Worked great and held up well!

Congrat's on your new truck!!!! I think that Bil's are the way to go to level your truck. I also think you can have the tips powder coated. The only "performance" type mod I'd recommend if you don't want a tuner is a Pedal Commander. Also don't forget about the "famous" catch can's.

pps.... guys, synthetic or no? Thinking of Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Synthetic, and run a wix oil filter ?

Thanks again

Yes use the pup. Go to the dealership and get a SRT filter it’s the best there is. There’s a thread about it if you’ll look for it. The SRT is proven superior to the high $$ ones.

A/T’s and bils at 2.8 should make it level.
Flares (2500HD) if the tires are really flush or slightly outside the fender.
