I always got it from partsource, watched the flyers and waited for it on sale. But they didn't have it anywhere in stores for my last oil change.

JB's in Edmonton is Amazon's Redline supplier up here, and you can usually buy it cheaper off their shelves, and most times Mopac will beat JB's price. Both are old school brick and mortar speed shops in western Canada

My Local parts store get it for me from JB at a better deal. still 75$per gallon tho! :(

Im thinking that I could use 1 gallon of RL 5w30 and the other couple liters I might just add PUP 5w30 for top up...

This is the cheap Frenchmen talking out loud here...lol...

I just tried the Amsoil Canada Oil analyst service for my PUP 5w30 that I just dumped. Hoping my Cam is breaking in nice after the unfortunate start up **** up on my part.

I had made my first oil change a few weeks ago. I didn't like how thin the 5/20 was and plan to switch over to 5/30 at the next change. I was also shocked that the drain bolt was barely finger tight.

I'm not totally sold on 5W20 either. I'm using it in my wife's Edge, and that's what is in my Ram.

But, looking at the numbers posted, it seems 5W20 has some good amounts of ingredients.

According to prior owner, PUP 5/20 is all that's been in this truck since I got it at 24k miles (besides factory fill). I'm still deciding what I' going to do. Thinking of 5/20 Castrol Edge like I have in the wife's car. It meets factory specs.

5/20 is only another minuscule attempt to save a little gas at the expense of faster engine wear, if you use the truck as a truck.
If it's just a grocery getter hauling cotton balls, it won't matter.

I run 5W-30. I tow moderate.loads.

I noticed something similar. I switched from royal purple 5w20 to 5w30. Didn’t notice anything different until I switched back to mobil1 5w20. The biggest difference was going into and out of MDS. Much smoother with the 5w20

I started dropping out of the eco while driving and my gas mileage has increased.

5W-anything is the same "thickness" (viscosity) as 5W-anything when the oils are cold. The 20 viscosity will be thinner than the 30 viscosity when the oil is hot. Is your oil pressure that much higher when running the 5W-30 oil when hot than when running the 5W-20? While it takes horsepower to make oil pressure, if the oil pressure is only 2 or 3 psi higher between the two oils, I doubt you will notice any horsepower loss.
Your oil temp should be a bit hotter than than the engine coolant because the oil does a lot to cool an engine.

I find Canadian Tire always has the best sales on PUP every 3-6 weeks!

No, it's not. SAE viscosity grades cover a fairly wide range of viscosities. Google it.
