I've been reading and searching through the site for quite a while looking for the info I need but it seems like a lot of threads I've found die without an answer, or its not really clear if what the person did worked or not. So it's time to ask for help.
Here is my situation:
I have the 8.4A Alpine system in my 2500. I have replaced the 3 dash, 2 front door and 2 rear door speakers with the proper Kicker upgrades. Now I need to find a way to fix the equalization and roll-off to make it livable.
Here is what I'd like to know:
I have seen recommendations for adding a AudioControl LC2i, would that work for my system or do I need more channels? Do I need any other components to go along with the LC2i?
What would the LC2i do for me? I would prefer some type of device that could set a frequency curve by itself by analyzing the sound in my truck.
Could I just replace the factory amp? I have also read about people completely replacing the 'Alpine' amp with a Kicker unit, but it was unclear if they were successful. Is it possible to do that swap, and if so what Kicker amp would work?
I don't want to spend a ton of money, 2-300 bucks is probably doable right now. I don't want to replace the headunit or the factory 'Alpine' sub.
Thanks in advance!
