I see all the PW decal delete threads but have not come across these issues yet.

My first question is WHY did Ram put the ********* decal over the majority of the hood? You can barely even see it due to the PW being a tall truck. And IMO it makes things hotter when sitting in the sun. The last thing I want in South Texas is hotter anything. I want a white PW that happens to be available for me now, but I know I’ll be deleting that hood decal. Am I missing something? Does it deflect heat on the underside so the engine bay might be a little cooler? Or is it purely a cosmetic thing? Either way, it’s gone if I buy that truck.

My second question is; How are guys removing the bed decal that says POWER WAGON sideways on the 2020 beds? The letters flow into the rocker panels. So if you want to leave the wrap on the rocker panel but remove the letters then you would have to leave some pieces of the letters behind; which would look stupid.

See pic below of letters warped into the rocker black panel .

the rocker panels are actually painted so you just have to peel the letters R and N off the paint. I have not noticed any excessive heat from the decal on the hood. I hate the side decals but I like the hood decal..

So the white POWER WAGON letters are stickers on paint? I would have to go up close again, but I could have sworn the black was a sticker or wrap and the letters were cutouts.

the powe and wago letters are cut out of the decal and the R and N are letters stuck on the bottom panel which is painted. If you peal the black decal off there will be no letters and then you peel the R and N off which are actual letters.

so where i am pointing is paint not a wrap. the main letters are a decal with cutouts so actual paint shows the R and N are just decal letters over the pain.

Ahhh. Very clear. Thanks retired. So if you de-badge the sideways POWER WAGON you still have a full black rocker panel from front to back. Nice!

Yes. As stated, that is paint…not a sticker.

Never understood decals on paint. My 21 was ordered with decal delete...so much cleaner to me, but some people like em and its usually pretty easy to spot a PW with its decals for sure

You'll hate that shiny white hood without the black decals... it's like a mirror.
No it's not. No glare whatsoever. Yes, I have a completely white hood. "Like a Mirror"? Comeon... Black hoods are a gimmick.

The black part of the hood is for sun glare when off-roading.

They may claim it's for sun glare but overall it's really just for looks and to try to make the PW models stand out more. They use the exact same paint on non-PW models with no black decals and there are probably 50, maybe 100, times more non-PW trucks running around.

I would say the only way to cut down on sun glare off the hood would be to use a flat black decal. I have a silver truck (butt ugly color by the way) with the black decal and sun glare has not been a problem. I personally like the decal on the hood, not nuts about it on the side of the box. Not like you can really see the decal unless you are in the front seat.
